Dutch week games

"The important quality of the basic games is that
the players are always playing soccer."1
Coaching Soccer

The following basic games come directly from Coaching Soccer or the Dutch Vision weeks. The preference for a few basic games is easy to understand. The children have to master only a few fundamental forms and the games cover a wide variety of soccer problems.

Objectives. Each game has one main objective, winning. To do this the children will need to achieve many smaller ones. The games structure allows the children to face these objectives repeatedly. The repetitions offer them the chance to learn. The objectives are always in relation to their motivation and TIC.

Organization. The layout and equipment necessary for the game. Dimensions, goals and resistance can be adjusted to accommodate the lesson.

Rules. Starting point, limiting factors and scoring. Elements that can also be adjusted in order to accommodate the lesson.

TIC. The tools needed in order to achieve the objective. Learning occurs when there is a permanent change in TIC.
